So here's the story....I came home from work yesterday and decided I wanted to "get serious" about my "dream" of becoming a film score composer (along with director, cinematographer, still photographer, and screenwriter...depending on what day of the week you ask me). Thusly, I wanted to see if I could actually make some music. I spent about eight solid hours sitting at my Yahama MO8 scribbling notes by letter names on Post-Its (cue for all my music teachers to cringe simultaneously) and then recorded it and did all the post work in Logic Pro. Anyway, this is what I came up with after I got sick of doing it.

I wanted to put it on the internet but the only way to share music efficiently on the internet is YouTube, so I had to throw together something visual too. I'm sorry, it's kind of a poor concept to throw these photographs up against the music like there's some meaningful juxtaposition (there isn't), but they were literally the only image files I had ownership to that were on my computer. Anyway, in case you're wondering (and have read this far), Vicarious Windows is the name of one of the books I'm currently in the stage of submitting for publication and so once it comes out, gets to the top of the bestseller list, and becomes a movie starring Robert Pattinson and Demi Lovato (or whomever the young moviegoers like in those days), I guess I would use this song in the final battle scene....and thus achieve my dream of becoming a film score composer (while also hitting "best selling novelist").

Obviously, all music and images are copyrighted 2010, LK Creative. For more info on stuff I do...

  • very nice. I enjoyed listening to your song. very emotional and moving. I too share the same dream as you. I want to compose scores for movies and the like. I hope to hear more of this talent soon.

Take a glance at a song I just recorded not even a week ago. I spent a whole night writing and recording it. It's nothing in comparison to your piece, but, I'm sure you'll enjoy it. It's called "The Lost Romance". You can find it on my channel.

Take care and good luck with your dreams. :)

  • Hey, Great composition! felt the emotion straight away, and 0:55 when the piano comes in its absolutely beautiful, well done!

  • For having no specific meaning, the combination of music and pictures were quite compelling by the end.

    Nicely done.

  • I like it! Very nice and inspiring...
