What a pal! No one has ever sat me down and put a good dram in front of me...need to find some new friends! :-) Glad to see chums having a dram, just like gentlemen use to do before we all went so crazy and busy. Makes me feel guilty even to have Vodka and Cranberry when there is HP in the closet...truly wonderful stuff. Thank you ronmalt.

I think the Highland Park 18 is quite excellent. Very rich fruity and smokey flavour. I would like you to try the Laghuvulin 16 year old, which is an Islay. a little less sweet than the Highland, but a great whisky.

I tried this last night for the first time. Up until then, I would have to say that Laphroaig 10 year old and the 10 year old cask strength were my favorite, but I think this one is now my new favorite.

If the legs slide down thick and slow this often indicates a whisky with a good texture.
This is partly due to the viscosity of the whisky.
Ethanol has a higher viscosity than water, Fusel alcohol (tails) found in malt whisky has a much higher viscosity.
Beware, caramel also has an influence on this.

Thanks for the reaction and Karel also thanks for explaining of some things.The bottles are different years first they use to be sold in the right bottle.After a few years they were sold in middle bottle.now a days the left one is on the market.I like thick legs.

The last two bottles taste the same.The oldest taste a little bit different (better)
I have tried a blind tasting with four persons three of them took the oldest as the best and a bit differen.Independent of each other.
