One of Alesi's very quick pit stops at the Iceberg Gran Prix of Phoenix in 1991.

  • This was the golden years of F1! V12 engines, huge tires and wings. 1000+ horsepower and some of the best drivers ever lived, Senna, Prost, Mansell, Alesi you name it..

  • His car is beautiful

  • @fredrik999z What are you on about :D In 1991 the Honda RA121E 60-degree V12 and Ferrari Tipo 037 65-deg. V12 gave about 710 hp at about 13000 and 13800 respectively, everybody else had less. The highest anyone got with the 3,5 litres was Ferrari with the 043, which put out ~ 820 hp @ 15,8k rpm at the end of the '94 season.

  • And?

  • I like this course,phoenix.

  • Screw the drivers... back in the 90s the pit crew work short shorts and polo ts... around flammable liquids.

    lawl

  • PENSAR QUE ANTES NO HABIA LIMITE DE VELOCIDAD EN BOXES HASTA MONACO 94 PORQUE CON LA MUERTE DE SENNA EN LA CARRERA ANTERIOR EN IMOLA SE MODIFICO TODO... =/

  • Today there will be safety car because of the crashed car at the exit... and Alesi would get a drive through penalty because he left the yellow line:D

  • @fredrik999z No car in 1991 had 1000hp...

  • i agree! today's cars are so small... and i think with an entire and amazing tv-package want to supply thing that are absent, like driving. i guess massa in suzuka (07?) its something that all we see alot in the past

  • Dont worry, FIA now banned refueling in pit stops so you now you can have a chance to see some things similar to 80' years (Mechanics without fire suit for example).

  • Yeah overalls weren't needed by the pit crew since refuelling wasn't allowed in pitstops until 1994
