Culprit Records is the imprint of Los Angeles party organizers Droog. Culprit has previously only had digital releases, from Hot Natured, Lee Foss, Matt Tolfrey & Kenny Gibson. This latest release on vinyl is by SECT, a four-man production team compromising of the infamous Soul Clap (Airdrop, Wolf & Lamb, Crosstown) alongside Boston House heroes Tanner Ross (Voodex/Dirtybird) and Sergio Santos, comprising in SECT. The 'Man of Wisdom' 3 track EP, features three monstrous, mid-tempo killer house tracks. For us its all about the update of Mulatu Astatke on the A side - we know there was a recent update on Mixed Blood Cuts but this is completely different and superior, in our opinion. The Soul Clap boys do it again, a sparse, dubby, exotic horn infused workout making the most of the original track! Acquire at all costs! B1 'Hi-Fi All Around' invokes almost an R&B feel to the stripped down psychedelic micro house, whilst B2 'SECTsy' is a swirling slice of heady house pie. This EP is the perfect antidote, combining lot's of exotic elements and showcasing the best of Boston, MA, producers.
