By "buy a fast computer" I meant hardware wise... thought that was obvious.

And I seen no record about Microsoft having started anything... but even if they did go to someone saying "make a PC" it doesn't mean they did anything theirselves. Google "who invented the PC".

If Microsoft didn't exist, Linux would probably be as good now, which is why I said you can have a great computer (hardware + software) that Microsoft had technically no contribution in.
