part 2 of 2

Daughter is a refreshing 12-minute break from the usual modern irony and humor-drenched horror films. It doesn't mistake sadism for suspense, or gore for tension. It knows the real deal. It has a real voice, it's fun (if you like being scared), original and refreshingly twisted. The climax is one that you'll remember for a while.

It's several levels above what you normally see from student work...and if you turn the lights off and give it a chance...it will give you a good, healthy scare.

This movie is also quite noteworthy because Eduardo Rodriguez, the student director...received a three picture movie deal from Miramax based solely(!) on this film. Movie fans should track it down for that reason alone.

  • Dear GOD! the Catholics were RIGHT!

    lol good movie quite scary!

  • I liked it. It was creepy and dark. You know, not every horror movie has to be the next Saw. People are so desensitized these days.

  • it's shit.

  • @JennyQ333 just watched this again and it is still really creepy.

  • This was really good, but I think the ending would have been better if it stopped at the mother in her own 'room', instead of showing the rest of "Hell."

  • Fucking hell... that was really good. I normally don't like horror films after 1970, but this was something else. I really loved the atmosphere, totally did not see the ending coming.

  • wait so did she kill herself an sophie, is tht y she went to "hell"???

  • interesting idea for ''the Hell'' at the end

  • see, that's why I hate kids-- God has nothing to do with this, mommy.

  • Thank you. :)

  • Well, not to doubt or confirm, but technically, anyone could find that information. Unfortunately or fortunately, proving one's identity online is nearly impossible without exposing yourself to identity theft or the like. Likewise, sharing any information that only you could know doesn't mean much since there isn't anyone here that could also know and confirm it.

That said, excellent short film, very creepy and profound in a way. Sophie was excellently played and done.

  • Not bad. The mother's acting wasn't the greatest, but the kid did a good job.
