I kinda don't understand the plot given, but this is what I think happened. A girl has been trapped in an insane asylum (or other desolate place) for a very long time, and never saw herself aging. She eventually died, but didn't realize it as if she just went from living to ghost and never noticed. And one day she felt a sudden realization (the spider maybe?) and finally saw what had happened, and eventually seeing herself dead. -shrug- Was I close?

It's not bad. It feels a little dull. The story seems a little muddled and I can't quite figure out what's happening and I don't understand why things happen the way they did. Why does a spider crawling in her ear mess up time? The animation and art seem to go between absolutely amazing, to something that seems too cartoony. The score isn't bad, but it seems to lack a sort of punch. It seems to be trying, but there's no emotion to it. It's missing something.

at 1:01 it looks like Janet Jackson

The ending reminded me of H.P. Lovecraft's The Outsider, where the narrator comes across something hideous but finds out it is his own image in a polished sheet of glass.

@twilightsanity ...arachnids...show no emotion...they simply stare...'cept Porsche jumpin' spiders...& related fuzzy ones...they...look at you...study you...follow you with their rudimentary, articulated eye set...however...they NEVER blink...

WOAICHT O________________________O I will be seeing that as im in bed tonight.
I was intreagued, blind-sighted even, but it didn't quite frighten me. Even though I am daftly afraid of spiders, it didn't disturb me as much as I expected... I appologize if that is shocking to hear, but this felt like it was missing more substance from the character herself. More emmotion was needed to be expressed for me to feel a sense of fear myself...

i probably agree. although there wasn't any time or particular means to characterise. It's not that sort of film. The emotion was to come from the score, and I couldn't find a good composer for it. I ended up scoring it myself, but I'm not happy with the score. As there are no words and it's short, the format means it has to rely on music for emotion, and obviously without John Williams working on it, it is always going to fall short. can still be re-scored though.

thanks for compliments. I just checked out rubber johnny, then stumbled upon chris's other work, and I can't believe it. He did almost EVERY single TV advert or music video in the past ten years which I remember liking as a teenager growing up. Unbelievable! Thanks for recommendation, I've not seen some of these vids in ages! I'd forgotten about them.. (but probably not in terms of their images engrained on my subconscious). cool
