A Day In The Life Of A Pencil

Living as a pencil, sounds pretty peaceful, doesnt it, with no homework, little sisters, shouting parents, or boring old school.
But, as I am about to tell you what really happens deep within the pencil-case, and how every second is definitely, not, what it seems.


To begin the day, you are rudely shaken out of your peaceful slumber, and shoved into the jaws of
The PENCIL S H A R P E N E R !
As you are scraped, and skinned (very painfully I might add).
The pencil sharpener gets greedy, and your insides fall out!
I mean How bad is that!
Imagine YOUR guts sliding out of YOUR throat.
Not much of a pretty picture, huh!
I guess were just lucky that we dont have blood like you though.

Any way, the rest of the day is not AS bad, although occasionally I slowly shrink & get blunter. So, Im back to the sharpener again, (I like to call it the shortener), for yet another drilling cut.

One horrible event is the habit of being lent. You can either be loaned out to a good person, for the usual routine, or sometimes, someone might steal you, or maybe, people might even chew on you!
Bad points of pencil chewing
1.It hurts the pencil,
2.You get lumpy scars that are NOT a good look,
3.Your paint can wear off, and your wood can get soggy & even go mouldy!
Good points of pencil chewing
1.er, um, nothing?

EXACTLY! Its not as if we need any more torture or any more scratches, scrapes, scars, and sores!!! RAAAAAA!!!! Sometimes I feel like screaming my lead off at you humans & all your fancy pens & various torture items!
Ahem. Er .. anyway,

Near the end of the day, I am thrown into my pencil-case once again, & zipped up so that I cannot move a single wooden muscle, that is, if I was able to move in the first place. Then the desk lid is closed with a deafening BANG! And all there is to do is wait for entire darkness & the loud snoring of the glue-stick.
Its hard to get to sleep with that, but eventually you are gone for another night, only to relive it all the next day, & the next, & the next, until you get so short you are thrown into the bin and your tiring life is over finally.


As you can see, you would probably NOT like to live a day in the life of a pencil.
