I use a mixture of opencv and home made things....

it has got 4 motors one to lift the pen ...

in the video it is only using 2dof to move in 2d plan ..but a more recent version uses 3 dof to move in 2d ...there are some advantages with the extra degree of freedom .... to see what it's drawing ..and to draw some specific patterns
