This is an amateur video that was created by Giles Buchanan; a graduate from Exeter University and Exeter University Officer Training Corps (EUOTC) at his home in Edinburgh. The entire set was hand-made mostly from clay, cat litter and horlicks powder. Each soldier was individually and painstakingly painted. All this was done in support of DecAid whose team is made up of dedicated and enthusiastic young people all under the age of 25. The narration is the voice of Hamish Clark, the actor best known for starring in the BBC drama Monarch of the Glen.
The 10th anniversary of British troops in Afghanistan will be in October 2011. DecAid is a nationwide, year-long appeal to raise awareness, particularly in under 25s, of the efforts and sacrifices our British servicemen and women are contributing in their daily work in Afghanistan. DecAid also aims to raise £350,000 for three service charities; SSAFA Forces Help, BLESMA and Talking2Minds.
We aim to do this primarily through six main events. To find out about our events, or to join the mission, please visit our website at http://www.decaid.co.uk/
