This is the method I use to finish a wrap as used in rod building. The loop is placed under the primary wrap several wraps before the end, then finished. The tag placed through the loop and loop tightened but not pulled through, the tag is cut off approx .5mm (20 thou) from the loop, then pull the loop through. This will pull the tag end through 5-6 wraps and not leave a little fuzzy tag that cutting off after the pull through sometimes can.

  • cheers thats better than the way ive been doing it, im just going to do my first rod build,

whats the best way for tipping with metalic threads?

    ta

  • There is a couple of ways it can be done. How many turns of thread do you want for the trim? less than three you'll need to incorporate it into the main wrap, 3 or more can be standalone.

  • thats great thanks, what about diamond wrap, do you whip the ribbon into the main body or can you also do that later?,

    cheers again

    Scot

  • Hi Scot, I suck at diamond or any decorative work so can't answer that for you. Sorry.
