@Miglow Irvine himself will define the instrument as a bouzouki. He chooses to have them handmade and designed with guitar bodies. I know that John Doyle has adopted the practice.

Opinions are like... yeah. There is a guitar, but it is strung with four courses. Like the other guy said 4 months ago, it's probably tuned like a Bouzouki, and he's also has what looks like either a mandola or octave mandolin sitting right there right at his feet. Either way, great tunes, and Liam O'Flynn is, as usual, an amazing piper!
