Dutch Farmers Protest against low milkprices

These were some farmers on their way to Winterswijk I guess, to throw away 250.000 gallons of milk. Since they can't get a normal price for it...
The farmers receive about 1 euro for a gallon of milk, while they need at least double to get out of the costs..
Prices for milk in the supermarket did not go down one bit.. So somebody is making LOADS of money over their backs...

i agree those farmers need to protest. its only fair they could make a reasonable living out of their hard work.

but i think this is a very very sad day for the cows.

first they get sucked empty, and then the milk goes straight down the drain......

Gewoon zelf melk gaan kopen bij de boer. Verser, lekkerder, voller.

easy to understand that if the producer of the good only gets a small part of the money, something is wrong.

Might also be said about the products coming from China, the workers get nearly nothing, some people everything.

because of the necessary pasteurization, the power went from the farmers to the big companies.

Because a farmer himself cannot pay for such a pasteurization factory. Thanks to that pasteurization you get worse milk, and the power goes away from farmers, and you get an easier way government can also tax it (they know exactly how much is shipped to where and when). Let's go bac to old times, where peoples bought at the farm (thousands of years experience).

How sad that they have to resort to such tactics. Maybe they should be the the French farmers that stormed the stores and wrecked everything! Without farmers we are all going to starve and they do not seem to want to do anything around the world to help them. In California one of the valleys they shut the water off to save a 2" bait fish?? Go figure that? Stupid ideas they get!
