Of COURSE this is a "blues" tune - if you can't hear Eric's "blues" in this song, you're not listening!

Outstanding song.

Credited writers on the album notes were Eric Clapton & Nizami

I remember this song being on the back of the 45 with Layla. I was 13 when i bought it from a store in Philly Called the listening Booth. Those were the days of incense and black light posters. And most of all good music.

@MrRemo58 "otherwise" ?!? No, it's not blues, but how does this detract from the album ?

Hi
my research brought me here. ^_^
I was reading about an Arabic poet he is very famous his name is Layla and Majnun . ( majnun is crazy in Arabic )
this guy poem was an influence in many cultures such as Persian , Urdu , Turkish.
Eric Clapton quote many words from the Persian version . Nice song
This comment has received too many negative votes show
Don't think this is a blues song, odd that this was included on this otherwise great record..

@MrRemo58 Good thing Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs isn't exclusively a "blues" album.
