  • The bounce is because of the gap in the eye hook. You can't make that hole any smaller because the drag will load or drag down the motor. The skull head is light but because your running on a long shaft it has lever which means there is more force when the head is on the shaft then when it is not. You could try to run shaft in between two small dowels or roller bearing. The smaller the gap the less bounce. Personally I think it looks fine. I'm very impressed you have some awesome skills.

  • @markgreen64 Thanks a lot. Yeah, that is the problem. I ended up just leaving it as is and I'm fine with it now :)

  • Is the motor you are using just ne of those from like the moving christmas reindeer?

  • @nightstalker1669 I use a bit stronger one but a deer motor should work as well. I got it Electronic Goldmine. It's called Super Power 12 VDC Gear Motor. Don't forget to also get a power adapter. Look up: Heavy Duty 12VDC 500ma Adapter

  • skull is still to heavy. maby shorten the rod and move motor up?

  • Weight is the key for sure. If you look at newer video, I came up with a novel solution.

  • The Electronic Goldmine motor is sold out. What other motor would work?

  • I realize this is an old video, but i just happened on to it in 2011 so I'll just post my 2 cents in case your interested or anyone using the same technique to solve the wobble. The skull is top heavy and the pvc pipe is thin and has some flexibility to it. A quick fix would be to use a stiffer pole or stuff the pvc pipe with new paper wrapped around a think dowel to make it stiffer.

    Great animated technique. love it!

  • Well you probably figured out by now but it really seems fine. Plus when it is up people aren't gonna worry if your skeleton has a mild case of tourettes lol

  • In the theatre, we always say: if ya can't hide it, FEATURE IT!

  • If the eye hook rotated freely and you added some tape to the rod, you might get rid of the shudder. The problem seems to be the flipping of the dowl from one side of the eye to the other and the fulcrum is very close to the actuator so any wobble is exagerrated.

  • how about some scary hands holding the top edge of the tombstone.
