Aborigines relied foremost on hunting and gathering, understanding both nature and the climate in the often drystruck lands they lived in, unlike the white man who flooded the land with settlers from europe seeking to exploit the land through farming and resource exhaust. I wouldn´t try farming in the saharas neither but wisdom seldom follows greed.

Population is not the issue. For 40 000 years aborigines led good healthy lives by the millions. Its about how you use the land you live in.
