    Definitely not real! It would make the mechanism a bit rusty I think. It's actually rotating rods of twisted glass. It looks even better in real life, well worth a visit if you're in the area.

    I saw this on a History Channel program many years ago and I never forgot it. It has to be simply one of the most beautiful machines I've ever seen. It literally puts a lump in my throat to watch.

    a good video of this automaton i discovered when looking for a video of the Peacock clock in russia, since i found only one not great i decided to post mine not perfect but better and in russian i could not extract the english subtitles. Thanks for sharing
