Birthday Party story

This movie is one of the best ways I have found of explaining complexity to people using the metaphor of a children's party.
You can't manage one with learning objectives, milestone targets and defined outcomes.
Instead you have to manage (to use the jargon) the emergence of
beneficial coherence with boundaries, within attractors.




To use more common language, you create some enforceable boundary conditions and
lay out different options for play and see what the children pick up on.

About the movie:

Christopher Bellavita at the Naval Post Graduate School
in California wrote this up as a Socratic dialogue. His students have
now produced an original movie with is a delight to watch
