My Dell laptop says the battery is dead, however I can run the computer for 30 seconds to a minute on it, as long as I kick-start it with the power cord.

What I'm doing:
1) run the battery til it's "dead" and won't boot the machine.
2) Unplug battery, plug in power cord
3) Turn on computer
4) slap in battery, quickly unplug power cord
5) runs like a champ for up to a minute

  • Be careful. I accidentally blew up my laptop doing this same thing back in 1955.

  • yea it is dead just 1 more life

  • The BIOS uses as little power as possible, that why it takes so long when using Disk Sanitation services, this is pure dumbness.

  • How does the battery die?

  • hi :)

  • Yup..........Check out my Energy video.

    See what u think?

  • The reason it does this so that you use the battery up to the point that you completely discharge it, and the computer cannot work without the power cable itn.
