  • Doesn't say not to diversify, he is saying before venture in other market explore carefully the option in you current one. Too many times people develop new products instead of making their existing ones better.

  • Terrific! nice and simple. However, I suggest adding strategy for positioning to this.

    Productivity is only half the equation. You also need to balance a unique link of strategic activities to create a competitive advantage because competitors can replicate your "Productivity" - Read Proter's, What is Strategy? (free paper from Harvard Business School).

  • tesco has nothing to do wti marketing or publishing, personally i dont really get affected by discounts, etc. unless i compare to what i know the lowest rpice to be. I only shop at tesco becasue it is unfortunatly next to my house. That is their true strategy, it has situated itself right next to universitites and work areas, and bought the area around it so that other competitiors can get close... thats why i go to asda only on weekends when i have time to travel 1 hour
