I watched Callan avidly when it first came out.. It was probably the equivalent of something like Spooks in its time, really gritty drama.. I'm sad to hear that Edward Woodward has died, he was a fantastic actor..

Will look out for this, Stephen - I like Tony Valentine. As somebody pointed out earlier in this thread he is a vastly under rated actor, and so is Edward Woodward.
