For some strange reason, the main lyrics were repeating themselves (though innaccurately as "Shine On Me, Shine On My Love") over the last two weeks! Finally, I had to look up the song and was surprised to find that it was by Jefferson Starship and not Fleetwood Mac (I actually thought it was Christine McVie that sang it!). Marty Balin proves that he can sing with this haunting performance!

@reverendjim1968 He is one the most overrated singers of all time.Ialso think he is a FAG.

I do not think people really think of how talented this group really was. They had 3 lead singers who all had number one hits with the group. How many groups can claim that beside another highy gifted group....Fleetwood Mac. Marty Balin is such a beautiful singer here and on most of what he did........

If you look real close you can see a shotgun near Grace Slicks' feet!

Always one of my favorite songs........ Saw Starship in the '80's with Grace Slick as well. Couldn't remember if I went to the concert or not until I found my collection of ticket stubs... Must have been a really good one ;)

I love this song. This makes me really happy. I remember almost falling asleep at the wheel driving at night in a big rig, this song came on and it woke me up. My husband plays it for me when I am sad.
Beautiful and haunting song!
