Tornado Warning (Aurora, Colorado) June 7, 2009

Tornado sirens going off during a tornado warning in Aurora, Colo. The sirens are giving an "all clear" warning at the end of the video, except for the distant T-bolt sirens heard in the distance. UPDATE: There has been alot of debate of what siren this is. Most all of Aurora has the Whelen 3016 sirens, which look nothing like this multi-direction siren. This is the ONLY siren like this in Aurora. If you would like to see this siren in person, it is behind Sable Elemetary School.

tornados are pretty rare in this part of CO aren't they? my son in law was working just north of greeley when this all happened, and was told this was a freak year for all these storms....didn't aurora just get tornado sirens not long ago?

@minkyblack eastern colorado does have its usual tornados and aurora is sometimes a part of these storm fronts. i dont know the exact date when they installed sirens but they have been around for at least 10 years

Um im kinda confused about your question but tornados are common in the midwest part of the US which is know as "tornado alley." Tornado season typically starts in April all through August. Where i live, we usually dont get tornados but this year we did get several.

@ChachaChapati Aurora used to have an all clear voice message but they don't use it anymore.

Actually now most of colorado has the whelen 2805's if I'm correct.
