I agree. this is really risky operation. just trust the person who made the operation, its much easy to accept pain.

You can call Kay Kosberg @ Mayo Clinic (donor coordinater) 866-249-1648. She will send u a lab kit and u can call your local Red Cross Special Draws Unit and they will schedule you to bring in ur kit and do the lab (no fee) and mail it back to Kay. Thats the first step.

My brother just got a cadaver kidney. So far everything is working out well. He had 5 years of dialasis before getting the transplant. We thank God for the donor giving this gift of life. My brother might not be alive today if it weren't for people like that. It truly is a miracle.

i am thinking about donating to my father. we have the same blood type, but he is about to go under dialysis. could someone please inform me as to the the ins and outs of the procedure, as well as the pros and cons. i am 40 years old and he is 70. we are both asian male.

im 16 and ive just been told by my dotors that im going to have a kidney transplant in the coming months of this year :( im scared i might die or something will go wrong :S does anyone here know someone or has had an operation like this ? please, im stressing myself out and cant sleep

I had a kidney transplant 18 yrs ago and I nvr had any serious problems. I'm rght now im living a normal life at college and I thank God every day for keeping me alive :)

I wanted to know if stem cell could be injected into the bad kidney when the nephron of the kidneys shut down if the stem cell will help it to work again.
