  • UAD is a little smoother...

    who cares!

  • EQ-1A?

    Softube is Best.

  • Waves has it hands down , UAD to extreme

  • i have many of the plug-ins you use in your videos. rarely do i have the time to sit down and compare them. thanks for that! i love the t racks stuff, especially the EQ 1A(and the price)

i have both these plug-ins, and find myself gravitating to the t racks, just seems more natural, and less "sweep" sounding(like u wood get with a parametric eq). the only thing that sucks..is your beat is stuck in my head..haha....damn, specially the turn around on the snare!...uuuug!

    thanks for all your vids!!!

  • I love the T Racks plug ins. I swear by them!!!

  • Both VERY similar, though the T-racks sounds like it has more harmonics.

Horses for courses, both sound great but he T-racks wins based on price.

  • T- RackS is waay better

  • UAD wins this one. But could use either in a mix.

  • You should never forget, these EQs (just like the UAD/IK/... Fairchild Comps etc.) are "specials" and supposed to sweeten sub groups/busses/master mixes - but NOT to be inserted on each and every one of 48+ tracks, "just because you can".

They were meant for polishing and livening-up when needed, not for surgically shaping every track's frequency space in the mix - your sequencer's integrated EQ does good enough a job for that.

  • I had an UAD card and the UAD Pultec, to me it sounds a little harsh and extremely over-responsive. "Just a little more top-end here... darn, too much. Just a little less bass... darn, too much."

The IK behaves more subtle and more "controllable" when turning those knobs, and that's what I'm after, I don't care how close-to-the-analog-original it may or may not be.
