  • My twelve year old Grandaughter is highly creative and such a good writer that her teacher wanted her to send in her article on Abortion to Obama.

But the main point more then anything is that Joseph Smith has way too many false prophesies to be a true prophet of God.

I was once a Mormon and when I did my research, I found many things where the LDS Teachings go against the Bible.

  • you hit the nail on the head, why is the book of Mormon written in King James English? That translation was for the time of these people in 1600.

The real point is Joseph Smith made way too many false prophecies to make him a true prophet of God.

and reads God's Word in it's entirety, the interpotation will be what God has written. If Believers were to actually beleive that the Bible could be misinterpereted after careful study and the quide of the Holy Spirit, then there would be no hope in God's word at all.

What you say comes directly from good ole Satan himself, as he wants people to believe this lie. This lie is used to bring in converts and make them depend on what an organization teaches.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 Many people put their trust in Jesus my friend. I know I do. and when they read the same verses of the bible, they come up with many different translations of the same verses. I don't claim to be perfect in any way either. That would be ridiculous. You and I both know that there was only one who was.

Your way of translating the lessons you learn from the bible is no more valid then every other persons, if they use their own understanding.

  • @st10ar5 Sorry about that....No one is perfect as you well know and I sure don't make that claim. But here's the problem with what you say. The biggest problem there is when it comes to God's Word is that most don't read all the chapter or even the letter or book that is written. The other problem is that most rely on others to get an understanding of it...with the combination of the two, of course there will be many different opinions. but when one has entrusted their faith in Jesus...

    cont.

  • @carpentersdaughter2 whew, good thing that I said NOTHING about "the translation" of the bible. I said nothing about the words on the page being translated incorrectly.

I rather said that the way that YOU translate the words that are on the page is what is incorrect. The words on the pages can be translated in so many different ways because we as human beings are not perfect and do not have a perfect understanding.

unless you are perfect, and you happen to have a perfect understanding....

..and prove that the church is true...seems way too convenient...

God's Word is not hard to understand or interperet when one is in Christ Jesus, and all any Beleiver has to do is study God's Word in it's entirety and the understanding comes easy.

...Have the Holy Spirit to guide them. You see when Jesus said that He was the "I AM", it's not hard to understand that He is refering to Himself as the one who spoke to Moses.

No, the LDS Church has a huge problem and it tries to cover up that problem by saying that the Bible is translated so many times that it can't be trusted. Now here's another thing to ponder....this same Bible which the church says has been translated so many times it can't be trusted, uses it to try..

    cont

  • @st10ar5 Here's a fact that the LDS Church AND the Missionaries don't tell you. They do say that the Bible is translated so many times that it's lost it's original intent...Now, here's the truth....The King James English was directly translated from the Hebrew and Greek. The King James English has NOT been translated so many times that it can't be understood.

Now, here's another fact....When one reads the Bible in it's context, then those who are Believers in Jesus Christ..

  • @carpentersdaughter2 or your translation of the meaning of the bible.

  • Joseph Smith. Besides his assertion that the Book of Mormon was far superior to the Bible, he charged that the Bible had been changed by "Ignorant translators, careless transcribers, or designing and corrupt priests. (History of the Church, vol. 6, page 57. Is this man arragant or what?

  • Joseph Smith) Had I anything to do with the Negro, Iwould confine them by strict law to their own species...”Prophet Joseph Smith, Jr., January 2, 1845, History of the Church, v. 5, pp. 21-218. How can this man be a lover of his enemies? if he couldn't even love people with dark skin? lol. Did he ever pray for them? hum? i think not, because they were from another species, OMG. But this man prayed for his enemies? Ha ha.
