Everyone wants an excuse, God is the ultimate excuse. I don't need forgiveness because I've done nothing wrong, it's as simple as that. You seem like a nice guy so it's hard to argue with that but it is all blissful ignorance. Everything happens, not for a reason, not to fulfill some divine purpose but it just happens. You are right everyone needs to take responsibility for themselves, including everything that they blame or praise on a god.

of course your prayers will be answered if u truly believe they will, and look for reasons to believe. but, that doesn't at all mean they're getting answered by some god being outside of time and space lol..it just means u believe they are..problem with u religious people is that u want something to be true, so, u just will yourself into believing that it's true. all without ever really knowing. u believe so strongly that u know things which can't be known..it doesn't make sense.

Dude must say, great that you have a positive attitude and a positive view, Id be happy to call you my brother! But, I am an atheist, I don't believe in hating xtians and i don't. Like you i believe we should all just try and get along, but I don't believe in god. I'm an atheist and I gave you a thumbs up, I don't agree with everything you say, but I love your respectful approach. I "haggled" both theist and atheist for the way they go about their ideologies. No matter what their stand, you should judge people on a person by person basis. I don't comment for what people believe in, but more so for the way they go about expressing their beliefs. Generally speaking, atheist call me Christian and Christians call me Atheist (unless I say I'm atheist).
