  • Hi Gilbert:

I am from Pride London Festival in London Ontario. How do I get a hold of you?

  • the rainbow flag is the flag of the inca

    people of the andes mountains

  • P.s. to that -- or was it 1978? Probably 1978. Wasn't aware we were creating history, so I wasn't paying attention.

  • Gilbert! I remember you, upstairs on the top floor of the building on Grove Street, sewing that first batch of rainbow flags together - - on borrowed and donated sewing machines, using material hand-dyed in lots that resulted in mixtures of muddied colors. I was downstairs in the parade committee, trying to decide on the right parade route, who should lead it off, whether we were to worry about the death threats from Anita's crowd. 1977 - what a year!

  • Great history talk. We're featuring it at the GCRM (Gay Civil Rights Movement) Media Center on Facebook at facebook (dot) com (slash) GayRightsMedia .. Check out my channel for more info.

  • I like the flexibility of the symbolism. To me it means Unity in Diversity and clearly shows that minorities should stand together - not just LGBTQs standing together but also sexual minorities standing together with racial minorities and with other oppressed minorities. Together we form a patchwork Majority.

  • I agree.

  • He's right. We need to be everywhere to win equality!
