Utah Cyclocross has grown exponentially in the last few years, in part to its organic growth in popularity, and the efforts of Matt Ohran and his UTCX series. But with so many new faces in the sport, people forget the history of the X-Men Cycling Club bringing the first UCI sanctioned bigtime cross race to the State of Utah. Held at Soldier Hollow which was the venue for Olympic nordic skiing events just one winter prior, Soldier Hollow features wide open road sections, nasty run ups, and plenty of top level competition. This segment generously provided by Park City Television (PCTV) pretty much sums up the event, with some commentary by Todd Wells, Marc Gullickson, Racer Gibson, the Jacques-Maynes brothers, and more. Who wants to see top level cyclocross return to Utah? We know just the place to put on a race, maybe right after Cross Vegas.
