55y/o male, r't tibia fx s/p ORIF, for removal of implants (interlocking nail). He received femoral nerve block and sciatic nerve block for operation.

PSIS(post. sup. iliac spine) 與 greater trochanter 連線的中點,向尾側 4.5cm 處下針。

21# 9cm spinal needle.

Hamstrin contraction and dorsiflexion were noted.

2% Lidocaine 15ml & 0.5% Marcaine 5ml were slowly injected.

  • @apumothoaibao it doesn't hurt at all,the needle is very long and thin, this is something similar to treating bursities giving cortisone steroid

  • The local anaesthetic dosage then would be too much? THis is just for the sciatic nerve block. Need to add the part for femoral nerve, then would be overdose?
