  • This race started the machine we know as Calvin Borel!

  • I was at Churchill that day. Borel rode a great race and Seek Gold was good enough to capitalize. However, my heart was with 7 year old Perfect Drift. Perfect Drift was a staple on the Midwest circuit, and was absolutely top class in 2002 and 2003 at ages 3 and 4. He was especially good as a 4 year old. By 2006, Perfect Drift was still trying hard and running well, but he just couldn't win gr1s. He ran 2nd and 3rd a bunch of times, but this was as close to victory as he got later in his career

  • Meet reason number four why I adore Calvin Borel.

    Other reasons:

    1. Rachel Alexandra

    2. Mine That Bird

    3. Street Sense

  • Hey heh heh I love it

    I had $30 on him at 90-1!

  • sorry to hear this announcer suddenly passed away in summer 'o8
