Ever approach your bed carrying something heavy and wished the tailgate was already open? Finally, there is remote control convenience for the most difficult task on a truck, lowering and raising your 60# tailgate. JSC Engineering, Inc. info@droptail.com (818) 878-0578 http://www.droptail.com

  • Check out our JSC video #13! I keep the small remote tucked under a finger when I carry stuff out from The Home Depot (I don't like to hassel a cart and return it if I can carry it usually). Yea, the guys who don't regularly use their trucks might not understand this benefit. That black chevy used to be a hard working truck.

  • Does your vehicle have:auto trans, power steering, windows, mirrors, brakes, seats? Real men don't need no stinkin A/C either, do we? Lifting a 50-100# gate is the most difficult task asked of the truck owner, and you don't think a power tailgate is a glaring omission from their otherwise extensive power lineup? There's the elderly who want a truck but shouldn't have to struggle with such a chore, most women do not want to do the 50# lift, and the limitd mobility who just plain can't.

  • well uhh... I'll be damned if my dads GMC '93 Sierra's tailgate requires even 25lbs of force to put it up or down. It is a convenience for elderly people, but that doesnt mean it requires that much force to lift or drop it. Actually, I'd say pushing up the hood of a truck probably weighs more... just a side note

  • Does your dad have roll-up windows? How hard do you think it is to crank them open? Tailgates have gotten heavier, some gates weight in at 83#'s! Your dads hood has a torsion spring, can be lifter with 1 finger, besides, how many times have you approached the bed with an arm full of stuff, only to have to set it down to open the gate? Or get in & out twice during 5th wheel trailer hookups? Then there's the mileage improving spoiler mode...

  • my dad has the electric windows, so we dont have to crank em. how much better gas mileage do u get? is that just when u drop the tailgate?

  • The truck shown get almost 2 mpg improvement steady state cruising at 70mph.

  • You gotta be pretty damn lazy if you don't even feel like opening your tailgate.

  • I have a 98 model that is the same body style and I have to admit this would be nice because the tailgate is pretty heavy when your trying to hold something in your hand and open it. I'm only 19 and I see how this would be very useful..the people who think it wouldn't must not use their truck for actual work.

  • Well VW driver, do you even own a truck?

  • It can be custom installed hidden as seen in these vids as well (or easily painted body color).
