Stupid and fat GTR with all its techno is slower than C6 mackdaddy variants. Save your bull shit power to weight ratio excuses and those of the tires The tires offered on the corvettes are optional high performance race tires that can be ordered with the car when you spec/build one at your local chevy dealership or online. If they ran those demon laps they way they did with those tires and pulled a GTRS and didn't then offer them as an option for the public then it would indeed be deemed null.

@runnerbaba the Covette wasnt meant to be 2+2 sports car, GM tried to do it many years before the GTR was even thought up. and if you want to compare prices, the base Z06 is still cheaper then the GTR's base price. GM also wanted to put in a TT V-6, but many Covette enthuasist insisted it stay a V-8. Front Mid mounted engine with RWD. the GTR uses AWD to optmize it grip. indeed they are both great cars.

@lrecollet well z06 driver jim mero have 1200+ laps on nurburgring. if he drove this car i think he can beat that time. the driver here did few mistakes.
