is this thing will affect the entire PS3 system or just in the game?

what I mean is, I need to change the comfirm button button of my PS3 to "X"... so I need to reverse the function of Circle and "X"

and If I will use this device, can i still use my controller wirelessly? please reply, thanks...

Looks a great bit of equipment but the price is abit daft £60, needs to atleast £30 to be popular.
