In celebration of children and bilingual literacy, the Allen Public Library hosted a special event that included the dedication of 6 new children's murals painted by artist Kelly Stribling Sutherland. The murals were commissioned and donated by the Marquis family of Allen.
The event recognizes the Day of the Child/Day of the Book Celebration or Dia de los ninos/dia de los libros. The
Day of the Child (Dia de los ninos) holiday is honored all over Latin America as a way of recognizing that children
are a blessing to society.
