23rd February 2008, in Puente Tocinos Murcia. The last cube of the final. Edouard needed to solve the last cube in less of 10.5" and got 9.66" (no lucky).

Congratulations Edouard, you are the best!

  • average?

  • WR average rubiks cube: last cube

It is the last cube of an old WR average.

If you want see the five cubes:

    /watch?v=VxFWtvaGsDo

  • They should do 3 cubes or more and take the average for these events... It's not entirely fair, because depending on how the cube is shuffled, it can be easier or harder. I'd imagine only an easier cube can produce more WR times, while harder cubes add more seconds to your final time.

    But meh, whatever.

  • In competition you have to solve 5 cubes. The scramble of the cube is the same for all participants. For the average, the best and the worst times are removed.

The cubes are not more or less easier to solve. It depends on how you solve the cube. Maybe A needs 60 movements to solve the cube 1 and B needs 50 movements, but A needs 50 movements to solve the cube 2 and B need 60. So 1 is easier for B but 2 is easier for A. It depends on several factors, for example "the first layer" you do, etc.

  • I know enough about competitions. I'm one of the organisers of Open Murcia 2008, where Edouard Chambon got 2WR (and Javier Paris got other). I got 8th in 3x3 and I won in 3x3 blindfold

  • sorry, unofficially it's 12, of course

  • you DO solve 5 cubes at a WCA competition and unofficially, you solve 5 cubes. Just believe it!!!

  • i know its hard to accept yur wrong, so insult me if thats what you need to do

  • no u hoe

  • obviously you dont know anything about a competition(irony). along with what ankeraustinmax and rubikaz and avenueq14 said you do 5 solves, remove the best and the worst times(to remove luckiness or unluckyness) and take the 3 that are left and average them.
