The unique design of Quanser Quadrotor UAV with the entire helicopter enclosed within a protective carbon fiber cage, makes safer to fly in multiple UAV formations or indoors. The video shows one of our recent flight tests. The quadrotor is flown with a human-in-the-loop and a stabilizing controller. The HiQ sensors are used in a stabilizing controller, which is needed to keep the vehicle stable during flight. The entire controller is designed in Simulink including the joystick used to fly the vehicle. As we fly the vehicle, sensor data is streamed back to the host PC so we can monitor everything from vehicle sensors to controller performance. We can tune our filters and controller parameters remotely from the host PC during flight and immediately see the changes in vehicle stability and responsiveness. @phasespace You are right - there's no sound. We made the video in our R&D and there was a lot of bacground noise, so we uploaded a version with the audio removed. The Qball is designed for indoors, so it does not make that much noise.
