This is the disc that made me decide to upload some of these things to YouTube. It makes me laugh, as the sounds are exactly the same and could have been recorded anywhere. However, I am sure there are many transport enthusiasts who will go mad for this. It's pressed on a 12" acetate (the B side has a female singer with a jazz band but has been extremely badly damaged and is virtually unplayable). The label here is notated SOUND JLA and on the label is typed RECORD NO 1 - AUG 29, '50. RECORDED ON 1768 ON ROUTE 26 (A) LAM PAL RD & ALBERT EMBANKMT AND (B) ALONG LAVENDER HILL.
I suspect one of the most marvellous things is who ever recorded it would have had to carry an enormous amount of heavy equipment and large heavy batteries.
It must have been an enormous feat of recording engineering at the time.
That I believe is why it is so special.

@drigin1234 Yep, good point. And the quality of the recording's pretty good as well.

This is a wonderful document of transport.

@drigin1234 Glad you like it. To me, of course, it seems a little odd to state each stop as it sounds the same every time! I'd've thought one single recording would've sufficed. Am I missing the point, though?
