  • How do you prevent mold from between the planter and drywall?

  • @JacquieMDFR Mold should not form behind the Pockets. If this is happening it is because the Pockets are not being watered correctly. Be sure to water Wally’s tongue. The tongue absorbs the water and carries it down to the roots of the plant. Wally has a built in moisture barrier that wraps around the back and inside the front of your Pocket, this will ensure your walls and floors will not get wet!

  • Found that it is far more difficult to install the plants and soil than it is to actually install the pocket on the wall. I would love to see more planting tips, tricks, etc for the actual planting steps.

Also, VERY important to follow the watering instructions and only water the 'tongue'. Otherwise you end up with a puddle on your floor etc. My mistake was not sharing this technique with other members of the household :-|

  • @aemrickey Check out the Wooly Pockets website for some planting tips! For example, there it says to make sure some of your plant’s roots are in contact with the tongue. Also, for good measure you might consider gently soaking your plant’s roots in water before planting. You can an indoor tropical plant, who is living in Wally, approximately 2 cups of water twice each week. From that, you will be able to gauge how well the plant is doing and adjust your watering accordingly.

  • what potting size plants you used for? It seemed like 6~8" pot plants...

  • @chromantic1 We recommend 6", 8" or 1 gallon plants for Pockets. If you are looking for a really lush look you can even try some of the plants that come in hanging baskets at the nursery. They are usually about 1 gallon but they tend to be more full and spill down further. Generally you will want 3-5 plants per Pocket depending on their size and growing habits.
