  • It may have another meaning (lots of Japanese terms can mean different things depending on the kanji they're written with) but "maki" is the term for "roll (as in sushi)" and "ya" after something usually means "store / shop." So Maki Ya would be like a sushi place. Which, I forget, but doesn't this level happen in someplace pretty Japanese-ish? So is probably what it means in this case. I don't know of any word "Makiya" that means knives.The only ones for knife I know are "deba" and "naifu".
