Essentially what we are talking about is the co-evolution of memetics and genetics. And, of course, epigenetics related to crystalline intelligence plays a part as well. That is, the genome being altered between generations due to the events transpiring within a lifetime - education, abstract thinking, everything you were elaborating about the Western European Ashkenazi Jewish culture. But can imagine if we were to raise this in PC academia?

@Hammersley1967 You are absolutely right this is likely why Western European Ashkenazi Jews have such a high IQ as they were almost totally confined to doing white collar work. The higher the IQ of a medieval Jewish banker the more money he made and thus more of his children were likely to survive thus higher IQ was selected by the culture of western Europe.

Eastern Ashkenazi who were not persecuted however did not have these pressures, which is why Polish Jews have lower IQ's than Poles

You make some salient points. Have you considered this:

Has culture itself become an evolutionary selection pressure?

Does culture "select" those individuals that are cognitively and intellectually best suited to being socially and economically successful within it?

Obviously, what I am suggesting is that a psycho-physical (neuro-cognitive) style is selected...

Thus those populations that have lived within this social-cultural-economic milieu for the most generations are most successful...

@Themostbasedgod you're right biology and neuroscience in particular does tell us that all human and chimp brains do have pretty much the same structure. In fact in terms of genetics there appears to be no difference between chimp brains and human brains other than coding for the amount of cell division that is to take place.

The reason humans are smarter than chimps is because our brains are bigger, and the reason human populations have different IQ's is because of differences in brain size.
