For anyone wondering what comes with a Meade 12" Lightbridge Deluxe, here is a video for you. Some improvements over older 12" Lightbridge are better collimation knobs and a 2-speed focuser. Some accessories may very depending on where you buy your Lightbridge. PLEASE NOTE....At the end of the video, my Lightbridge is shown with a Nagler EP, Telrad, and an Orion RACI finder; these are not included.

  • Are there storage covers for all three open ends?

What made you choose Meade over Skywatcher Dobson telescope N 304/1500 Skyliner FlexTube BD DOB ?

I'm comparing these and the skywatcher has at least the flexitube to its' favour.

    Thanks!

  • @Raksonevs No there is no cover for the open ends. There is just a cover for the primary mirror. I use a sunglass bag to cover the secondary. An idea to keep it covered is to keep a light shroud wrapped around the truss tubes and black pantyhose to cover the top opening. Sounds kind of funny, but its cheap and effective. Also, I choose the meade for a few reasons. First, I had a Skywatcher Autotracking Dob. Optically, they are both the same. I just had problems with the Skywatcher autotracking

  • @Raksonevs motors. Second...I liked the fact that the Meade now comes with a 10:1 dual focuser. But again......optically, both are the same. Wonderful views in each! Good luck!

  • @steveh74 One more question if i may. Is it made in USA?

I try to avoid chinese, not because of quality, but because I think everything shouldn't be made there.

  • @Raksonevs The Lightbridge is made in Taiwan. I agree with your statement about China. Way TOO MANY things made there!

  • hey I getting mine in about 4 months and I was just wondering if it comes with a 2 inch eyepiece

  • @TheCHUCKY1992 It comes with a 2" 26mm 70° FOV eyepiece.

  • nice i am glad i got the solid tube 12" SW great scope and i do not need to travel to a dark site i have one here nice vid

  • @dolenzia78 The Lightbridge is a very good telescope. It costs €1000 here in Italy also. I have not been disappointed. Not only will you see more detail on planets, but you will see more detail on deep space objects. But my suggestion is to get eyepieces with AT LEAST 70 degree FOV.

  • Is this a good telescope? In Germany it costs 1000 € (1440 U.S. dollars) in the Deluxe version. Now I have a 6 "F8 Skywatcher Newton. The telescope is a bit too small for me. I hope with the 12" Lightbrigde you see more detail on planets.
