Flooding in St. Charles Illinois - Sept 13, 2008

After 6 inches of rain in 12 hours, Northern Illinois is experiencing massive flooding, particularly in the Western suburbs of Chicago. Video is from one of the hardest hit areas. Hurricane Ike is expected to batter the region tomorrow with another 4-6 inches of rain.

Since I am from California and was traveling with my brother-in-law from Geneva to St. Charles, I am not quite sure. We were attempting to cross the river from the south side of St. Charles to get to the Days Inn there to pick-up another family member. A ten minute drive turned into a 70 minute adventure.
