  • How do you get around the AVCHD format for video editing? Its a shame this camera doesn't have mp4 1080p instead

  • @simon44 Not sure what you mean by get around- that's the format on pretty much all cameras from $500-$5000 these days. It's the next generation of HDV sort of encoding. Very well supported in most NLEs and also looks pretty solid to my eyes for the price of the camcorders shooting it.

  • How can I connect the GH2 to the PC and see the live-view in full screen?

  • @Zuzullo Depends what you have in mind. The HDMI output is much better suited to the live view. But generally this is for connecting to an HDMI monitor, not directly to a PC.

  • i thought micro 4/3 isn't a dslr since it doesn't have mirror?

  • @ThisLaoGuy technically true as the GH2 has no reflex mirror. The viewfinder shows an electronic preview from the sensor, not direct optical path through the lens. But in most shooter's vernacular- "DSLR" encompasses just about any camera with interchangeable lenses.

  • @CallBoxLive I use FCPX and it wants to transcode/convert all of those files into files 8-10 times bigger than the original size. In fact if I dont transfer direct from my camera it wont import them at all for some reason. AVCHD is good for storage on the card itself, but is a nightmare after that. Its my biggest put off with this camera. I love the size of this camera and what it can produce, but if something is going to cause this much trouble then is it worth it?

  • Very nice!

  • @Zuzullo there is a USB cable :)

  • Go to eBay for an adaptor and in the camera settings you turn off a setting to use older lenses I.e Canon FD

  • @ThisLaoGuy it dont but u can use dslr lens on them ^_^
