So you thought 2012 doomsday is true, right? Think again...

University of Denver Astronomy Professor Dr. Robert Stencel debunks some of the hype surrounding the 2012 movement. A major motion picture, 2012, is due out in early November, based on lore that the Mayans predicted2012 would be the year of global upheaval in an "end of the world"scenario. And recently, Richard Heene, the father of "Balloon Boy,"posted his lengthy conspiracy theories about the year 2012 on a YouTube production he called "Psyience Detectives." There's plenty of speculation and curiosity, but Dr. Stencel assures us, it's all myth and fiction, not science.

  • We almost got wiped out by an asteroid the day before yesterday. I'm pretty sure that the world could end at anytime...doesn't have to be at 2012.

  • My droid's calender goes way past 2012... in a world that doesn't droid does.

  • when he says it, it must be true. NOT

you can look credible and wear a "save the planet" tie but PLEASE come up with some evidence or sources. just threw away another minute of my time :)

  • He is very good at saying nothing.

However, there won't be anything special in 2012. Watch the video "Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson - 2012 debunked". The root of 2012 was originally concerning Planet X. Turns out Planet X doesn't even exist, and was a mess up back in the 60's with a hardware flaw.

  • Well he is right...

remeber it was just 1999 when Y2K was made up to make money....

people i belive u should have enough thinking mind left even after using mind altering chemicals in food and stuff to think right

  • i hope your right

  • @Oggsy1992 Exactly, What about them? this stuff happens every year. something major happens every decade. its all a bunch of bullshit. SHIT HAPPENS.

  • japans earthquake was on the 11th so the 9/11 plus 3/11 does not add up to 12/21/12

  • @lg7720 What about the earthquake in new zealand or the flooding in australia, tsunami in indonesia etc etc?

  • Ig775 the myth is on the 25th not the 21st
