for real every1 needs to stop been racist and get together. have ya ever thought of that? and see how different the world will look? =( that will be awesome. i am dominican born in NJ and i used to hate hatians till the day i started playing soccer with some friends all kinds, white, black, indians, hatian, mexican, hondurian, salvadorian, and puerto rican and some of my asian cooly friends. that was my favorite day i ever had. to see a group from different country together just having fun

My favorite part of the DR history is:

In 1861, General Pedro Santana invited the Spanish to return and take over their former colony. But after a short period of mismanagement by Spaniards, the Dominicans realized their mistake and forced the Spaniards out so they could restore the Republic. Another attempt was made for stability when Dominicans invited the United States to take over a decade later.
