  • @cmgreen4 the purpose of placing your hands under your butt is to support your lower back..so..if you're not doing that because you think it makes the exercise easier..that's why your back is hurting.. :)

  • i thought sitting on your hands was bad because it makes the exercise easier?

    but anyway, my problem with this is that no matter how tight i keep my core, i can do the kicks just fine, but my back keeps arching up and up to the point where it hurts and i have to stop before my abs have actually done anything significant. how do i prevent this? i usually just do variations of leg raises because it doesn't strain my back much at all.
