I just ordered one this month. Should be in the near future in any case. Meanwhile, I'm building a 6 foot by 3 foot by 1.5 foot enclosure for mines. : ) Cant wait.

Obviously theres certain biological similarities with Tegu's, Monitors and Lizards, simply at face value. But if you look at certain areas of their anatomy, you see why they come from a different family of animals.
Saying a komodo dragon looks like a lizard is like saying a crocodile looks like a crocodile skink. But I guarantee if you buy one instead of the other, your in for some trouble. People buy them thinking their lizards, and end up with something HUGE. : p

How is the red tegu doing?Is he eating good yet?Alot of times when reptiles are moved to new environments,they may refuse to eat for a few days to a week.One of my beardies didn't eat for a week when I got him,now he's a pig!

He wasn't fed much at his previous home, so he isn't into eating many things. Still working on him.

The "red" tegu almost looks columbian, or atleast hybrid. Mind taking some pictures of him under some good lighting?

My Red tegu doesn't look a THING like a Colombian Tegu. Do you know anything about loreal scales and distinct appearances of the two? It's simple.
