First song that I learned when I got my Lowrey Holiday organ using the Lowrey pointer system. Mixed in a little Stepping Out for good measure.

  • THANKS FOR SHARING ABOUT THAT KEY OF C. I LOVE IT!

  • @lorrydienno Hey it's the truth - I can play about anything in C so why bother switching -- OK I visit F on Occasion! LOL!

  • I like this jazz style version! I can play this song the normal way, but never thought about playing with a swing style. Very good! Do you use the features on your organ as the "Arpeggiator" and "Touch Tempo"? I love that Concord organ much better than the Hammond Elegante. I prefer the Hammond Concord 2307 as it is a modern contemporary style. Again, you play very well!

  • @patsaxon - Thanks for the kind words - Hammond added bells and whistles such as the two you mentioned to compete with other organs of the day. They were great gimmicks to sell organs but never really had much real use. Lowery was one of the first as I remember with the Hawaiian guitar foot switch on the side of the expression pedal, Thomas had light up key boards, etc. etc. etc. Thanks again for posting!!!!

  • great playing, I had a Hammond Monarch for years till I came home one day and my mother traded it for a new electric piano with all kinds of sounds on it. no peddals. all kinds of Artificial sounds but I won't touch it much to her disliking, it needed a good cleaning and a few things weren't working but it would have been cheaper to have it serviced rather than get rid of it. Makes her mad as hell that I won't play anymore but I don't like it , It's NOT a Hammond.

  • @john6218att - I have had several key boards myself and they are amazing because of all the sounds they can produce but when all is said and done I love the sound of an organ and playing a Hammond, tone wheel or not, just makes it that much better.

  • So? woes wrong with the Key of C, it's earned me many dollar on keyboards, lol

  • I don't have a say, it's her living room , hoping I can get a space cleared out in my girl friend's house to put it in, her mom has a Thomas, small size like a spinnet.

  • @john6218att Tell your Ma' I have a Thomas Palace III, a Wurlitzer 625t, a Wurlitzer 4500, and a Hammond S6 in a room15'X 21'. This space is my living room so there is aslo a 7' sofa and a 25'' console TV and Wurlitzer 310 rotary speaker cabinet. So what is wrong with an electric keyboard and an organ in the same room?

  • the place that has my old Hammond did some work to it and the owner said I could have it back if I wanted it but now that Ma's new electric piano is in the spot the Hammond was in I don't have the space and my place isn't big enough, time for an addition
