Ike & Tina Turner were an American rock & roll and soul duo, made of the husband-and-wife team of Ike Turner and Tina Turner in the 1960s and 1970s. Spanning sixteen years together as a recording group, the duo played among its repertoire, rock & roll, soul, blues and funk. They are known for their wild and entertaining dance shows and especially for their scintillating cover of "Proud Mary", for which they won a Grammy Award.

Ike was the musical genius, also credited for have written and performed the first 'official' rock 'n roll song. Tina was the fantastic singer/performer known for her super sexy appearance. After sixteen years of a violent marriage where Ike beated up Tina frequently, their relation came to an end. In court Ike retained all monetary assets, Tina was left with the allowance to use the name Turner. Within a few years Tina Turner worked herself back to the absolute top where she would never leave again.

  • @JEGonc1 ...I remember because being a very young rock fan in La. I was starved for any kind of IN CONCERT Moments...The audiences got all hyped up for shit like Helen Reddy, John Denver & Neil Sedaka. The few people in the audience that weren't stoned on weed didn't make up for the idiots they coraled to sit through a show.
